You may use video, still image, original music, lyrics, poetry, and prose.  Animation is permitted or any other original creative expression that is captured and presenting in an approved format. If you use non-original material, make sure it is in public domain or you have permission to use the video/image/music/likeness.

Your submission must be sent no later than March 29, 2018. Judging will be by three respected members of the community who represent varying aspects of the political process: Currently in Office, a Member of DPCC Executive Committee, and a Senior Young Democrat involved in the YD Club at UofA Fayetteville.

 

 

Video must be between one to three minutes in length to be considered.  In case of your video being selected for public viewing, consider attaching credits at the end of the file.

Your submission should be loaded to https://filmfreeway.com/EncouragingCivicEngagement.  You will be required to complete an online form that includes: (skip those areas that do not pertain to you)

 

Name (writer/author in Section 2), phone number and e-mail of person submitting the video/essay. School attending (including Home School) Members may be from any Carroll County school district, Private School, or home schooled within Carroll County.

 

A note about content:

Give It A Title –

Be real, but keep it cordial. This video/essay, if chosen, may be shared with the County Party (DPCC) Membership, and/or the general public/community.

Hate language or a presentation that promotes a hate agenda will immediately be withdrawn.

Presentations that promote an illegal action or an action that affects public safety will immediately be withdrawn.  

 

The DPCC reserves the right to use all or part of Video/Essay Contest entries.

 

*If your preference is in Essay form the same conditions apply – with adjusted criteria of 750 typed-word essay in Times New Roman or similar standard 12-point font. Upload online following the instructions for video. Select “Script” instead of “Video” at top of online entry form.

 

 

PRIZES ARE AS FOLLOWS:

**1ST PLACE = $200 to the student submitting the entry, to use at will

2nd PLACE = $75 to the student submitting the entry, to use at will

3RD PLACE = $25 to the student submitting the entry, to use at will

Monies will be donated to all participating schools wishing to sponsor a

Young Democrats Club for all students!

All three winners will be shown to the DPCC Membership at a meeting in the Spring/Summer of 2018. All entrants are welcome and encouraged to attend!
