As our next Secretary of State, Susan will always fight to protect Arkansans voting rights.
Voter suppression is a real threat and our next Secretary of State must be ready to fight any efforts to make it harder to vote. Protecting Arkansans’ voting rights will be Susan’s top priority as Secretary of State, and she will fight any attempt to restrict our right to vote. Susan is the only candidate with a record of overseeing elections and protecting voting rights.
Susan served as Director of Elections for former Secretary of State Sharon Priest and was the Pulaski County Election Director for 13 years. Prior, she served as the Supervisor of the Civil/Criminal Division of the Pulaski County Circuit Clerk’s Office. She has served as both a county election commissioner and a state election commissioner and has more than 25 years of experience in state and county government.
She was recently named the 2017 Gressie Carnes Democratic Woman of the Year by the Democratic Party of Arkansas. She received the 2004 Public Servant of the Year Award from the Arkansas Disability Coalition and is a graduate of Leadership Greater Little Rock Class XVIII.
As an appointee of the U.S. Department of State, Susan monitored and observed more than a dozen elections in Eastern Europe and Central Asia over the last 15 years.
Susan was married to the late George Inman, Sr. She has two sons, George and William, and three grandsons. After graduating from Hall High School, she attended the University of Central Arkansas (Arkansas State Teacher’s College) and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
